Converted to seaplane tender 1936-37, with forward deck cut down. Recommissioned as AV-3 Langley on 21 Apr 1937. Hit and sunk by Japanese high-level bombers 27 Feb 1942 south of Chilachap while attempting to deliver 32 P-40s for the Java defences.
