- Service: Attached to Southern Force acting as flagship of the 4th Destroyer Flotilla. Covered landings at Luzon and Lingayen Gulf Dec 1941. In Jan 1942 supported landings at Tarakan and Balikpapan, where she was narrowly missed by torpedoes from Dutch submarine KXVIII. In Feb and Mar at the invasion of Java and Battle of the Java Sea. On 1 Apr 1942 she was torpedoed by American submarine Seawolf off Christmas Island and had to be towed to Singapore. After temporary repairs she was transferred to Maizuru and did not return to service until Mar 1943. Returned to south Pacific, where she was sunk 17 Feb 1944 during the American raid on Truk by aircraft from Bunker Hill and Cowpens.
