Rescued crew of foundering Norwegian steamer SS Bjerkli in Mar 1937. Assigned to International Ice Patrol in 1940. Transferred to Great Britain in 1941 under Lend-Lease program and renamed HMS Lulworth. Served as convoy escort in the Atlantic from Sep 1941 to Sep 1943, during which she sank the Italian submarine Pietro Calvi, 15 Jul 1942. Transferred to Eastern Fleet for convoy duty in the Indian Ocean, including escort for landings at Rangoon, Burma, May 1945. Returned to US 12 Feb 1946 and sold 23 Oct 1947.
