- Service: Began as sistership to minelayer USS Terror; redesigned during construction from CM-6 to transport AP-106 on 1 May 1943 then to vehicle landing ship LSV-1 on 21 Apr 1944. Participated in Leyte, Lingayen, and Okinawa operations, receiving 3 battle stars.
Postwar redesigned mine countermeasures ship MCS-1 on 18 Oct 1956; stricken 1 Jul 1961, reinstated 1 Jun 1964. Served off Vietnam 1969-70 earning 5 campaign stars. Four near sisters (LSV 3-6) were laid down as netlayers.
