- Notes: Barletta was one of five sisters employed as armed merchant cruisers during the Spanish Civil War and again during World War II, along with Adriatico, Brindisi, Brioni, and Zara. Barletta was badly damaged 2 Dec 1943 at Bari by German aircraft; repaired in 1948 and returned to mercantile service.
