- Service: 8th CS, America and West Indies, Sep-Nov 1939. Refit Nov 1939. 1st CS, Home FLeet, Dec 1939-Oct 1940. Intercepted two German merchantmen while on Northern Patrol: Wolfsburg on 2 Mar and Uruguay on 6 Mar 1940. Mediterranean, Nov 1940-Feb 1941. At Battle of Cape Spartivento 27 Nov 1940 she was hit twice by Italian cruiser fire, putting "Y" turret out of action. Slightly damaged by German cruiser Admiral Hipper 25 Dec 1940 while escorting a troop convoy in Bay of Biscay. 1st CS, Home Fleet, Mar 1941-Jun 1945. Refit May-Aug 1942 during which the hangar and catapult were removed. Scrapped Blyth 12 July 1948.
