- Service: Pacific Fleet 1945. World's first carrier landing by a jet aircraft - a DeHavilland Vampire - on 3 Dec 1945. Served as a supply ship during the Palestine crisis, followed by deployment to the Far East. In action off Korea from spring 1952 to late 1953. Returned to Mediterranean in 1955 and operated as commando carrier during Suez landings in Nov 1956. Placed in reserve in 1957, sold in 1960 and broken up in 1962.
