Dogger Bank Action, 24 January 1915. A German sweep of the Dogger Bank area by Adm Hipper's force of battlecruisers Seydlitz, Moltke, Derfflinger and armored cruiser Blücher was intercepted by Adm Beatty's battlecruiser force including Lion, Tiger, Princess Royal, New Zealand, and Indomitable. In a long stern chase, both flagships, Seydlitz and Lion, received significant damage, while the slower Blücher fell behind and was overwhelmed by the New Zealand and other British ships.
