Quiz #2
On 19 November 1941, Australian cruiser HMAS Sydney met the German raider Kormoran off the coast of Western Australia. Insufficiently suspicious, the Sydney was lured into close range by the Kormoran and then badly shot up. She was last observed limping away and on fire. She was never seen again and there were no survivors among her crew of 645. Kormoran was also badly damaged in the action and had to be abandoned. However, 315 out of her crew of 393 survived.
