- Notes: The Vincennes shot down an Iranian commercial airliner on 3 Jul 1988 over the southern Persian Gulf using two Standard missiles. All 290 passengers and crew were killed. The Vincennes combat information center had identified the target as probably an Iranian F-14 Tomcat making a dive on the ship.
