- Notes; The F123 Brandenburg-class frigates were ordered by the German Navy in 1989 and completed and commissioned between 1994 and 1996, replacing the Hamburg-class destroyers. Their primary role is ASW, but they also have AAW capability The design combined features of MEKO and Type 122 frigates. Like her sisters, Bayern has deployed on many NATO missions to the Adriatic, Mediterranean, and off the Horn of Africa. In 2021 she deployed to the South China Sea to show more presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
