- Actions: Pearl Harbor, Gilbert Is., Kwajalein, Eniwetok, Saipan, Guam, Palau, Leyte, Surigao Strait, Iwo Jima, Okinawa. At Pearl Harbor she was moored inside West Virginia and thus protected from torpedoes, suffering only minor bomb damage. After initial repairs at Puget Sound, she was later taken for a major rebuild completed in May 1943, with large torpedo blisters (which made it no longer possible to use the Panama Canal), twin 5"/38 mounts, and extensive light AA. At Okinawa she took a major Kamikaze hit 12 Apr 1945.
