Acquired by Navy in 1921. Served Boston and Coco Solo, Canal Zone; San
Pedro and Pearl Harbor. Assigned Asiatic Fleet 1924. Stationed at Cavite Navy
Yard in Dec 1941. Worked in support of Subron 20 and repairing bomb
damaged ships. Moved to Marviales Bay, Bataan 25 Dec. Hit by Japanese
bombs 29 Dec 1941 and again on 1 Jan 1942. Disguised as abandoned hulk,
she continued repair work at night. When Bataan fell 10 Apr 1942, she was
scuttled in deep water.
