- Notes: Originally equipped to carry 24 floatplanes. Taken in hand 1941 for modification to carry Type 'A' midget submarines. Converted to light aircraft carrier from Jan 1943 - Jan 1944 at Sasebo Navy Yard. Along with sister Chiyoda, which was also completed as a seaplane carrier and then converted to an aircraft carrier, she was sunk at the Battle of Leyte Gulf, 25 Oct 1944.
