- Service: Ordered by Russia from the German Schichau yard as the Muraviev Amurski. Seized by Germany at the outbreak of war with Russia in Aug 1914 and completed for the German Navy as Pillau. After the German surrender, she was redesignated U and allocated to Italy. Delivery took place in Jul 1920 when she was renamed Bari. Rebuilt several times, particularly in 1934-35 for colonial service. Formed the nucleus of the 'Special Naval Force' for the Corfu landings in Oct 1940. Operated along the Montenegrin coast in support of anti-partisan operations. In Nov 1942 she assisted in the Italian Army's occupation of Corsica. Plans to convert her into an AA escort were scotched when she was sunk by American bombers at Livorno on 28 Jun 1943. She was damaged again on 8 Sep 1943 by the Italians to avoid capture of the hull by the Germans when the Italian armistice was announced. Broken up postwar.
