- Notes: The 30 Loch class frigates were an improvement on the River class with the superior Squid ahead-throwing AS mortar, mounted high up to be less adversely affected by heavy seas. Another 26 frigates were converted during construction to Bay class AA variant, and 54 more were cancelled at the end of the war. Loch Achanalt joined the 6th Escort Group at Londonderry in Sep 1944 and operated around the UK until transferring to Halifax in Apr 1945. She was transferred to the RNZN as Pukaki in 1948. Broken up 1966.
