- Service: Home fleet 1940-44. In Jun 1941 she intercepted the German weathership Lauenburg off Jan Mayen Island, capturing valuable naval codes. Torpedoed and damaged by Italian submarine Axum 12 Aug 1942 while escorting convoy to Malta during Operation Pedestal. Refit in U.S.A. completed Jun 1943. Eastern fleet 1944, East Indies 1945. Sale to India announced in 1954; transfer made after extensive refit: renamed Mysore 29 Aug 1957. In service until paid off 20 Aug 1985; scrapped the following year.
