- Actions: Training ship starting 1929, making several foreign cruises; then in Scouting Forces. Damaged by typhoon in Pacific while on training cruise, 1936, requiring major repairs. Refit 1939 at Wilhelmshaven dockyard increased beam, increased AA to 3 twin 3.5", and altered appearance, including larger funnels, with caps, tripod mainmast, different pattern cranes. Took part in Norwegian campaign; torpedoed and badly damaged by British submarine HMS Truant 10 Apr 1940; later scuttled by torpedoes form German torpedo boat Grief off Kristiansand.
