- Service: HMAS Brisbane was the one of three Australian cruisers to be built in Australia with sisters Melbourne and Sydney built in Britain, all as members of the Chatham class. Served in the Pacific 1916-17, then East Indies later in 1917 and convoys to UK in 1918. Joined the Aegean Squadron in Nov 1918 before returning to Australia in 1919. Last act before being paid off was to carry crew for new HMAS Sydney from Australia to UK in 1935.
