- Notes: A row galley of the Continental Navy, one of three (along with Congress and Trumbull) hastily built along with smaller gunboats for the flotilla commanded by Gen Benedict Arnold to defend Lake Champlain against a British invasion from Canada. Joined Arnold 30 Sep 1776, under the command of Capt Thatcher and Gen Waterbury. Fought in the Battle of Valcour Island 11 Oct 1776. Escaped with survivors of the Continental fleet, but surrounded and captured 13 Oct 1776 near Split Rock Mountain. Taken into British service and re-rigged as a brig for the campaign of 1777 and used as a transport. Probably sunk at St. John's after 1783.
