- Service: Built for British India Line. London-East Africa service via Suez Canal. Maiden voyage London-Beira 22 Aug 1951; on 16 Sep she arrived at Mombasa, the 7th B.I. vessel in port, occupying all the docks. Originally black hull w/ white stripe; fleet change to white hull w/ black stripe in 1955 as shown here. The Six-day War closed the Suez canal from 1967 to 1975, so the ship and her sisters re-routed via the Cape. Converted to one class of 309 in 1967. Final voyage ended at London 7 Jun 1969. Broken up at La Spezia 1969.
