Released from naval service Oct 1945. Re-entered Indonesian and Australian services after overhaul in 1946, with some North Atlantic crossings. Refitted at Amsterdam for emigrant service to Australia 1951 at 19,787 GRT with 1,414 passengers all one class. Modernized at Amsterdam, 1959 foreign around-the-world service at 20,314 GRT with 1,210 passengers in one class. Sold, 1962, to the Greek Line; renamed Lakonia for cruising only. Burned and sank off Madeira, December 22-29, 1963; 128 lost. Sistership Marnix van Sint Aldegonde.
