- Service: Built for Holland-America Line service between Rotterdam and New York. Converted to troopship for U.S. War Shipping Administration at Los Angeles from Apr 1942. From Sep 1942 to Dec 1943 she made six successive voyages from the West Coast to Honolulu, New Zealand & Australia, Noumea, and other points in the South Pacific. Another six voyages in 1944, including several to points in New Guinea. Two more voyages, including to Guam, in first half of 1945. In Jun she sailed to Europe via the Panama Canal, making several Atlantic crossings and one trip via South Africa to Singapore & Colombo, before heading to Rotterdam via the Suez Canal to be returned to her owners in early 1946.
