In Nov 1942 she was part of an 11-ship convoy sent to reinforce Japanese
forces on Guadalcanal. All 11 ships were sunk or beached by USN and USMC
aircraft flying from Henderson Field. Yamazuki Maru was beached
near Tassafaronga Point on 15 Nov.
