Departed 30 Nov on maiden voyage Genoa - Villefranche - New York, during which an outlet valve below the waterline jammed and blew a sizable hole in the hull, flooding the dynamo compartment. Transferred to Italia Soc. Anon. 17 Dec 1936. Last sailing from New York 25 May 1939. Laid up at Malamocco, Venice, in Sep 1939. Bombed and sunk by German aircraft, 11 Sep 1943 shortly after Italian armistice. Wreckage raised and scrapped, 1945-50.
