Used principally on the Aberdeen-Lerwick passenger service, she was fitted with portable cattle and sheep stalls. Requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1939 as a guardship; converted Sep 1940 to accommodation ship. In Sep 1942 she became a convoy rescue ship. Lost with all hands 22 Jan 1943, when she foundered off Sable Island while on voyage from Greenock to Halifax; presumed capsized in severe icing conditions.
