Took part in North African landings Nov 1942, Sicilian landings in Jul 1943, and Salerno landings Sep 1943. Trooping to Far Eastern areas 1945. Reconditioned 1947-48 by Thornycroft at Southampton, coming out at 20,186 tons with accommodations for 502 first class and 610 tourist class. First postwar sailing 17 Jub 1948 London-Sydney. Refitted again 1953 with 1,410 all tourist class. Scrapped in Spain, 1962.
