- Service: Milwaukee and near sister St. Louis were built for the Hamburg-American Line's Hamburg-New York service. Maiden voyage 18 Jun 1929. Rebuilt as cruise ship 1935/36 at Blohm & Voss; 16,754 GRT with 559 first class passengers. Naval accommodation ship at Kiel 1940. In May 1945 she became a British war prize; renamed Empire Waveney. Served as troop transport for Ministry of Transport under Cunard-White Star management. However, while refitting at Liverpool, she caught fire and completely burnt out 1 Mar 1946. Broken up in Scotland 1947.
