- Service: Built for Messageries Maritimes' Marseilles-Far East service. Maiden voyage 21 Oct 1932. Refitted 1935 with new Sulzer diesels producing 14,700 BHP and 18 knots. First post-refit voyage 20 Apr 1936. Used as an Allied merchant cruiser, 1939-42. Seized by the Japanese in Apr 1942 at Saigon, and renamed Teia Maru. Temporarily used as a diplomatic mercy ship 1943. Torpedoed and sunk by submarine USS Rasher in the Philippines, 18 Aug 1944.
