- Service: One of a number of fruit carriers built for J. Lauritzen, Copenhagen, in the late 1930s. Primarily for fruit trade with services Finland-France-N. Spain; Memel-Pasajes-Bilbao; Italy-Sicily-Liverpool-Manchester; Spain-UK; Finland-Spain. Laid up in Argentina in 1940; sold 29.12.41; renamed Rio San Jaun 1942. Her sister Australian Reefer was taken over by the USN and became the supply ship Pontiac (AF-20); she was deliberately run aground on the Newfoundland coast after being holed by a freak paravane accident in a storm and although refloated, was deemed not worth repairing.
