- Notes: Built for financier Jay Gould. Initially 212 feet on the waterline, she was not considered a success at first, so after one year she was cut in half and lengthened to 228 feet. Sold to the Venezuelan Navy in 1900 as a gunboat and renamed Restaurador. Captured by the German navy during the Venezuelan crisis of 1902-03 and put into service under a German flag as part of the blockading squadron. After the crisis, it was returned to Venezuela. It was renamed the General Salom and continued in service until 1950.
