- Notes: Originally 300 were built in 1953-54 and designated as T43E1. Due to deficiencies, they were not initially accepted until numerous modifications were made. Finally accepted in 1956 as the M103 heavy tank, with 80 going to the US Army and 220 to the US Marine Corps. Some 219 were produced as M103A1, either converted or rebuilt. Further conversions to M103A2 standard by 1964.
